Venue operations
Reservations, live floor and payment in one dependable system.
When bookings, the live session and payments live in different tools, a busy night breaks the record. I build venue operations software around one fact that has to stay true: who is there, what they ordered, and what was paid. That model is what I built in Heselo — online as a product, and available as commissioned work for your venue.
When it fits
When the floor cannot trust the screen.
Venue software helps when staff are serving guests and cannot stop to reconcile three apps.
01
Reservation and floor disagree
The booking says one thing, the table says another, and nobody knows which promise is real.
02
Payments sit in another tool
Orders and open bills are tracked separately from the till, so the next morning is spent reconciling.
03
Shifts mix money and memory
Who closed what, which window was promised, and whether cash belongs to this shift depends on people, not the system.
What can be built
From a booking window to a closed shift.
The first release follows one venue workflow. Extra modules come after a real night of use.
04
Reservation windows
Availability, promised slots and rules that stop a second booking from taking the same window.
05
Live floor
The screens staff work from while the guest is here — status, adds and the session that started from the booking.
06
Session close and shifts
Payment, tender and shift boundaries so money from one shift does not quietly mix into the next.
How it starts
One venue flow first — then widen.
We map how a busy period runs today, ship a usable first release and grow only where the floor still struggles.
07
Map the busy period
How reservations arrive, how the floor runs and where the record breaks under load.
08
Ship the first venue flow
Core states — reserved, live, closed — with the screens and rules staff need for a real shift.
09
Extend from real use
Inventory, admin and further integrations follow after the team is actually working in the system.
Before we start
The main questions about venue software.
- Do you implement ready-made restaurant POS or booking products?
- No. I build operations software around your venue process — the same pattern I used in Heselo. Heselo is built and online; it is not yet running commercial daily operations for venues. If you need a hotel stay-and-pay system, that is a related pattern (StayBoard); this page is for venue and floor operations.
- What drives the cost?
- Roles on the floor, reservation and payment rules, shift controls and any connections to tools you already use. We stage the work after a short discovery call.
- What should I send?
- How a typical busy night runs today, where bookings and payments diverge, and which tools you already use. A short note is enough.
